The Kunnamkulam - Malabar Diocese
is the largest Diocese of the Mar Thoma Church.
A total of seven districts starting from Trichur
all the way to Kasarcode forms part of this Diocese.
The Northern part of the State of Kerala, specially
Wayanad and Malabar areas are considered to be rural
and tribal areas. The majority of the population
in these places are Adivasis and Tribal dalits.
They have never been exposed to the routines of
daily living and there is a great need for us to
cater to their three basic needs for human survival
(food, clothing & shelter). The Kunnamkulam
- Malabar Diocese plays an important role in the
development, upbringing and education for these
lesser fortunate citizens of India. |

Ministries: Chekadi tribal mission is situated 12 KM inside the forest away from Pulpally. The only means of reaching this tribal mission field is to cross the Kabani river. There are no proper means of water transportation available to cross this river. Our evangelist Sunil stays with his family among these adivasies in the forest. Social work, de addiction, tuition centers etc., running health camps are the main current activities. Currently the Mar Thoma Parish in Kizhenkken Muthoor (Thiruvalla) supports this mission field. |

In association with World Vision and in close consultation with the Development Department of Mar Thoma Church, the Malabar Mission promotes notable social and cultural developments in the Nilambur township. There are more than 50 people’s groups at Nilambur, Chungathara, Pothukal and Edakkara areas where child development program, animal rearing and self employment schemes are being supported. |

Situated in Calicut this mission center conducts periodical medical camps. A tailoring school also exists. Regular field visits in Theyyampadi Ottaplakkal colony Badiroor, Kottuppadam is also organized. |

Mission works are monitored by this center at Mampatta. Main emphasis is on student’s work where regular get-togethers are organized in Regional Engineering College (REC), KMCT and in other Universities. Free Medical camps for local people are also supported by St. Paul’s Mar Thoma Yuvajana Sakhyam, Calicut. |
